The HeatBooster makes efficient use of waste heat energy and lifts this up to useful energy at high temperature levels which can be reused in your industrial applications, thus reducing the overall operational cost and reducing the CO2 emissions.

The High Temperature Heat Pump decarbonises Heat and saves energy

The use of a Heat Pump will reduce energy use, or completely replace heat from traditional fossil fueled boilers or newer electrical boilers. A Heat pump solutionssaves energy from 50%-85%, depending on the COP of the application.

Typical applications

  • Pre-heating of process water
  • Boosting the temperature of process water before re-use
  • Generating distributed steam for processes

Sources of waste heat are for example

  • Warm water going to a cooling tower
  • Warm effluent dumped in a river or lake
  • Low temperature or LP Steam
  • Condensate
  • Hot air from heat driven processes

Use of air as source of heat not recommended

Contrary to the typical residential heat pump the use of air as a source for process heat is not recommended for several reasons:

  • Industrial applications typically require high energy flows, and waste process heat normally is a better and more efficient source
  • The large temperature lift from normal outside temperatures to typical process temperatures would have a very low COP or efficiency.
  • The low energy density of air would require large investments in heat exchangers
  • Varying external tempratures would make the process less reliable
